Plano-convex Lens is a type of convex lens component with an asymmetric lens structure (one flat surface and one outward-curved surface) contributing to a positive focal length. Plano-convex lens could be used for light collimation, focus, and the contraction of the focal length of a lens group. CaF2 is an excellent optical material of high transmission in the UV to IR spectral ranges. Its high laser damage threshold and outstanding durabilities to thermal/mechanical/chemical attacks enable its incorporation into UV optical systems, IR lens groups, and high-energy lasers such as excimer lasers.
